The Faith of Moses Hebrews 11:23-29 (NKJV) . . . for he looked to the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. The Faith of Moses The Faith of His Parents – (23) • They hid Moses for three months – Ex. 2:2; Acts 7:20 • Thought of him as special – Ex. 2:2; Heb 11:23; Ps. 127:3 • Did not fear the royal command – Heb. 11:23 • They trusted God would preserve him and use him. The Faith of Moses The Faith of His Parents – (23) • Parents need faith – Heb. 11:1; 2 Cor. 5:7; Rom 4:19-21 • Faith is needed to “bring up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” – Deut. 6:4-9; Eph. 6:4; 2 Tim. 1:5; 3:15 • Requires discipline – Prov. 13:24; 19:18; 22:6,15; 23:13 Hebrews 11:23-29 W. 65th St church of Christ / July 26,2009

The Faith of Moses Refused To Be Called The Son of Pharaoh’s daughter – (24-26) • “When he came of age”(Heb. 11:24; Ex. 2:11; Acts 7:21-25) • Moses made a mature choice to align himself with God and His people – renouncing his privileges. • With maturity comes greater responsibility – Hebrews 11:23-29 W. 65th St church of Christ / July 26,2009
