  2. 1917 • JFK is born on May 29th 1917 in Massachusetts. • 1931: After being forced to withdraw from school due to appendicitis, he begins attending the Choate School. • 1934: During his junior year there, he becomes ill and is hospitalized at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

  3. 1935 • Graduates from the Choate School. • Enrolls at Princeton University but is forced to withdraw after 6 weeks when he is hospitalized for two months with potential leukemia.

  4. 1936-1940 • 1936:Kennedy enrolls in Harvard College. During the next 4 years, he spends time with his family going to different part of Europe. • 1940: Kennedy gets done with his senior thesis at Harvard. Graduates from Harvard with a degree in international affairs. • 1941: Kennedy is accepted by the U.S Navy. Becomes junior naval officer.

  5. 1943 • 1943: While sailing in a PT-109 with his crew in the Solomon Islands, Kennedy’s boat gets attacked by a Japanese destroyer. He swims an injured crew member to two different islands until they were safe. • He receives the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his actions. He also gets award the Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and World War 2 Victory medal.

  6. 1945-1946 • 1945: Honorably discharged from the Navy. • 1946: He runs for the U.S. Representative seat in Massachusetts. He wins by a landslide. • He’s a congressman of the state for 6 years.

  7. 1947-1952 • 1947: Kennedy is diagnosed with Addison’s Disease. This is mostly kept private during his political career. • 1952: Kennedy wins the U.S. Senate seat.

  8. 1953 • Kennedy gets married to now Jackie Kennedy on September 12th. • Had a wedding even that was called the event of the season. • Over the next couple years, he undergoes spinal operations.

  9. 1956 • 1956: Kenney finishes in second place for the Vice President spot in Adial Stevenson’s presidential campaign.

  10. 1960-1962 • 1960: He announces his intent to run for President of the U.S. Asks Lyndon Johnson to run as Vice President. • On November 8th, he defeats Richard Nixon. • 1961: He is sworn in as President of the U.S. He gives one of his most famous speeches of his career.

  11. 1963 • November 21st: He begins his tour of Texas. • November 22nd: He is shot at 12:30 p.m. while riding in an open top limo in downtown Dallas. • Pronounced dead at 1 p.m. 80 minutes later he Lee Harvey Oswald is arrest. • Lee Harvey Oswald is shot by Jack Ruby. • Buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
