Some free time in the afternoon for shopping Day 6 – Madrid ~ Toledo ~ Granada We travel south to Toledo – spectacular city situated on a granite hill surrounded by Tagus River, the ancient Castilian capital attracts more sightseers from all over the world than any other Spanish Town – view the 13th century Gothic Cathedral, the Chapel of SantaTome with El Greco’s masterpiece and the Burial of the Count of Orgaz, the ancient synagogue, then to Granada. Tonight, enjoy truly Andalusia night – with typical Spanish dinner with the ever lively Flamenco Dance Day 7 – Granada ~ Alhambra Palace ~ Generalife ~ Malaga In the morning, we visit Granada’s main attraction – The Alhambra Palace. A fantasy of lace in Stone surrounded by arabesque gardens and fountains, it affords a superb views of Old Quarter and Sacromonte, a mountain occupied by Gypsy cave dwellers, also stroll through the magnificient Water Gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer residence, then travel to Malaga Day 8 – Malaga ~ Cordoba ~ Seville Visit Cordoba – Spain – most moorish – style city is known for its great mosque, which is rightly known as one of islam’s greatest piece of architecture outside the Arab world, visit Mezquita Mosque, Old town and the Jewish Quarter. Then continue journey to Seville on arrival explore through the city’s varied history – the Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de Espana, view the Cathedral with Columbus’ tomb, the Gold Tower on the Guadalquivir River and the fine baroque building, which is now the university but used to be the tabacco factory of Carmen fame, stroll along the narrow lanes of the charming Santa Cruz Day 9 – Seville ~ Albufeira ~ Portugal A Drive in morning along enchanting coastline to Lisbon, passing through the port town of Huelva and across the Guadiana River, which divides Spain from Portugal, pass by Algrave which is one of the country’s most popular tourist resorts which draws more to the superb beaches, overnight in Albufeira Resort Day 10 – Albufeira ~ Fatima ~ Lisbon Fatima – the world’s famous pilgrimage site. Marvel at the beautiful Basilica of our Lady of Fatima. Europe longest – lived oversea empire which left its mark on the city, in striking contrast with modern features.
