  2. Welcome! Today: • “Through Deaf Eyes” • - Part 2 (starts immediately, quickly be seated) • Each person needs your two papers from yesterday (absent? See front table) • Be ready to write as you view the video • Reminder-Good news- you do NOT have to write the questions, I printed them for you this year! 

  3. Welcome ASL 3 and 4! Today:Warm-up---5 min. ---you will be given a number from 1-1000… Now, everybody up and walking!  Try to guess your own number. When you make a guess, the person may sign either HIGHER or LOWER (OR YES/NO) How fast can the entire class guess your numbers? All stay standing until everyone is done 

  4. Check if you can sign these numbers (from your backs- warm-up) • 3 • 77 • 21 • 743 • 103 • 317 • 987 • 867 • 999 • 591 • 413

  5. A few “reminders” (based on most common interview errors) • *and no, you do not need to copy this “Doorbuster”- • ****#1-#5 are palm in- you got that!!! • ***But, when mixed with other numbers or letters, you do not twist- stay palm out. • Try signing these: • ASL 1, ASL 2, ASL 3 • 6593, 7428 • Time: 7:56 • Rules on signing years- • Example: for 1995- • You most often see 19 + 95,but can do 1 9 9 5 • Examples- practice these- • 1995, 1997, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2031

  6. also… The “Rule of Nine” – on numerical incorporation: • AGE- 1-YEAR-OLD, 7-YEAR-OLD, …..but AGE 10 • TIME- 1:00, 6:00, 9:00, … but TIME 10, TIME 11 • MONEY- $1.00, $5.00, $9.00, …..but 10 DOLLAR… • ---and others: • WEEK – 1-WEEK, 3-WEEKS, 7-WEEKS… • (future, past) • MONTH- 3-MONTH, 9-MONTHS, … • (yes-future, but past=3-MONTH + PAST)

  7. Reminder, tomorrow: story comprehension test!!! Video + quizstar, all old signs possible • Rest of today: Each group may choose from these lists- but I should see you doing at least one of the following at all times (check out tech from me as needed) --- • 1. Look at printed vocabulary lists and try to sign them- either point and ask the other to sign, or just sign through. • You can even make it a game- 2 points if your partner knows the sign you point to, and 1 point for you if they do not but you do! • 2. View and copy the vocabulary list videos- • I should see you signing. Waiting on them to load? Be signing to each other or from lists  (eye contact, hands moving) • 3. Test Preparation: Practice story translation- • view drweastasl channel for stories, write or sign to each other questions, ask Dr. Weast, etc.- view and/or try ASL 2 story comprehension on quizstar too. • 4. Study new lists (if ready for the test) – • Unit C for ASL 3- Texas Cities, holiday signs, etc. • ASL 4- create 20 (instructions from the other day) • ***Ticket Out Time: I will announce that you turn tech in to me- then be seated for more signs until the bell 

  8. ASL 4 new signs- list in progress by you: • BRIDGE • THICK (eg. bold letter) • VARIOUS/VARIETY/VARIES
