1. Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification ABOUT OTIC AS Otic AS was established in 1990, and is located on the Norsea Base in Tananger, Norway. Our facilities consist of 445 square meters of office space, and 1100 square meters of indoor workshop and warehouse areas. An additional 4000 square meters are operated as outdoor premises.

We have 5 Competent Bodies and 9 Approved Inspectors, as for 6 with certification for Offshore operations and 4 with NDT – Level 2 certification. 3. Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification BUSINESS AREAS Business carried out by OTIC AS is divided into 80 % offshore related activities, and 20 % onshore related activities. Our main business focus is within offshore testing, inspection and certification of lifting equipment. In addition we offer of a wide range of equipment for rental; hoists, clamps, trolleys, fall protection equipment, load cells and testing equipment etc. We also supply specified lifting equipment for both sales and rental.

Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification TEST RIG FOR LIFTING EQUIPMENT Application of equipmentThe rig is constructed with the purpose of testing lifting equipment like containers, baskets and other open lifting units of all types, tanks, skid mounted equipment and similar equipment mounted in frames. The rig can also be used for stretch testing of spreaders and lifting flanges.Primary measurements and capacity. The rigs total outside measurements are: Length 16900 mm, Width 4900 mm and maximum height 7300 mm. Containers up to 20" can be tested with a simulated weight on the floor. Maximum length of baskets and similar units that can be tested are approx. 15 meters. Maximum base for units that can be placed in the rig for testing is: 10100 mm x 3290 mm x 4000 mm (Width x length x height) Units that are tested can be exposed to a maximum test load of 50 ton. Brief construction description.The rig is a steel construction where all loads are absorbed internally in the construction. Thereby the rig can be placed on the ground without any special demands on anchoring or foundation The test load is applied through hydraulical cylinders and suspensions. The load will be as true to nature as possible. It simulates the load and angle of forces that the unit receives to with normal use.Registration and documentation of test results.All test results are stored and documented for the benefit of customer.

Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification TESTGALLOW FOR STRECH AND DROP TESTING Application of equipmentThe gallow is constructed for testing of smaller containers, baskets and other open lifting units. The gallow can also be used for stretch testing of spreaders, shackles and other units with a limited length. The gallow is specially adjusted for carrying out of drop tests in accordance to DNV ".2.7.1Major measurement and capacity The rigs external total height is approx. 5500 mm. The height from the lower edge hook to mounting surface is 4550 mm. Normally this rig will be used for units that does not exceed approx 2400 X 4000 mm ( width x length). Units for testing can be exposed to a maximum test load of 25. ton.Brief construction description The rig is constructed as a gallow of steel with a hydraulic stretch cylinder. The test unit is strapped to the foundation. To stimulate a load in baskets and other open constructions, extra equipment is used to give a load approximately equal to the exposure the equipment gets in daily use.Registration and documentation of test resultsThe gallow has a reading scale for documentation of test loads.All test results are stored and are documented for the benefit of the customer.

Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification TEST DRUM FOR TUMBLING AND CLEANING OF CHAIN SLINGS Application of equipment.The test drum is used for tumbling and cleaning of chain slings in connection with yearly controls and testing. Subsequent to cleaning a magnetic powder inspection of the sling is carried out in accordance with the customers demands and specifications. Before being mounted on the lifting unit the sling is dip-painted in this years colour.Construction description and capacity.The drum is a steel construction and powered by a electric motor. The drum has three separate chambers so that three chain slings can be cleaned at a time. The sling is cleaned to a purity that makes it possible to do a magnetic powder inspection and painting after the control.Registration and documentationAll cleaning, NDT-control and testing of the sling will be registered in our computer program that monitor all units we are testing and controlling. The results of testing and controls will be included in our reports to our customers.

11. Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification TEST BENCH FOR TACKELS Application of equipment.The test bench for testing of chain tackles, jack tackle and wire tackles. The test bench is mounted on a frame and can easily be transported.Capacity.The test bench is designed for chain tackles from 0 to 15 ton.The test bench is designed for test loading and testing of overload protection on chain tackles.Brief construction description.The test bench is constructed as a vertical stretch bench where the tackle pulls the bench together with a requested load.A manometer is incorporated in order to do a reading of the tested load.Registration and documentation of test results.All results are stored and documented for the benefit of customer

12. Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification 150 TONS STRECH BENCH Application of equipment.The rig is constructed with the purpose of testing of crane hooks, wire and chain-straps and winces. The bench is also constructed for execution of fracture tests on the same kind of equipment.Main measurements and capacityThe rigs outside measurements are:Length 12000 mm, Width 1.450 mm, Largest stretch power 150 ton.Brief construction description.The bench is constructed for horizontal strain testing. Maximum strain length as assembled is 10 meters. The bench have covers for protection of operator in all of the standard strain length. The straining is being done with hydraulic cylinders. Strain gauge-sensors measures the applied test load.Registration and documentation of test results.All test results are stored and documented for the benefit of our customer.

Offshore Testing Inspection and Certification DATABASE AND DOCUMENTATON For our clients we have a complete database of documentation available on web. www.otic.no OTIC AS has developed a Documentation program to secure in a best possible way it’s clients, as well as it’s own needs and demands for easy accessible documentation, archive and project logging. The system is built on a Windows platform and operated electronically on web. Direct scanning of certificates and control cards are implemented in the system.

14. Offshore Testing Inspeksjon og Sertifisering DATABASE OG DOKUMENTASJON Continues…. Otic operates a system where all hiring products are marked with a microchip. When supplied from our stock, all products are electronically read by a hand-held terminal, and updated information (control date etc. ) is automatically registered into the clients document archive. This system secures that all relevant documentation is updated and available at once on web for our client.
