  1. Charlemagne His legacy to Western Civilization and the influences of the Church

  2. What was Charlemagne's legacy and how did the Church influence it? • Charlemagne was born sometime in 740 under the name Carolus. He became king around 772 which was a pivotal point to Pope Adrian I who was being attached by the northern Italian kingdom of Lombard's. Carolus rushed to the aid of the Pope and then became the great love affair between Charlemagne and the church.

  3. Charlemagne’s Legacy • Being a Empire Builder • Reforms on the Monetary system the government, the military, the church, and Frankish culture Https://www.worldhistory.biz/middle-ages/20472-charlemagne-s-legacy.html This is a great source for showing his legacy and his rule.

  4. Charlemagne legacy and the church In 799 Pope Leo, demanded Charlemagne’s help when completed with the task Charlemagne was unexpectedly crowned Holy Roman Emperor. The Pope declared that the Western Roman Empire had never truly died in 476 but was waiting on Charlemagne to restore it to its former glory. https://www.historyhit.com/814-death-charlemagne-greatest-man-age/

  5. The Church’s influence on Charlemagne • [Einhard outlines Charlemagne’s conquests of Aquitaine and the Lombards and his reconquest and return of lands seized from the papacy.] • I found this source to be more on the hearsay or written accounts of one of Charlemagnes advisors so very biased but does really show how the Church and Charlemagne became a working unit to complete the empire. https://christianhistoryinstitute.org/study/module/charlemagne/

  6. Historical Facts on Charlemagne https://www.history.com/topics/charlemagne This site takes the basics and breaks them down from birth to death of Charlemagne. Shows how the church was a influence and influenced by Charlemagne.

  7. What impact did Charlemagne have on the Church? • The question of all questions I believe. It was the church who crowned him Emperor. I think this website really does a great job on showing how this was done. https://www.gotquestions.org/Charlemagne.html https://www.gotquestions.org/Charlemagne.html

  8. Church stated Ramifications • I believe this shows more the actual relationship that was held between the church and Charlemagne. https://nrla.com/charlemagne-and-the-vision-of-a-christian-empire/

  9. Holy Roman Empire, TheCareer Of Charlemagne This was written by Guizot, Francois P. G and I think it was a good finisher for this project. It sums up the life of Charlemagne and his affiliation with the church. Also how the church set him up to be the epitome of future Monarchies of the Western Civilizations. https://history-world.org/charlemagne.htm
