Enhanced Sliding Wear and Microhardness Performance of Novel Nano-Coatings via Detonation Spraying

This study investigates the sliding wear performance and microhardness of innovative nanostructured coatings comprising WC-12Co, Al2O3, and TiO2, developed using Detonation Spraying Coating (DSC). With a load of 0.5 N and a sliding velocity of 5.53 m/sec, the coatings demonstrate remarkable resistance to abrasive wear. The research highlights the advantages of DSC in achieving optimal particle temperatures and high velocities, resulting in minimal phase transformations and grain growth. These features contribute to improved durability and performance of the coatings in various applications.
