CLASSROOM STUDIES READING: • Unit 4: Weekly Concept-Animal Features • High Frequency Words:about, animal, carry, eight, give, our • COMPREHENSION STRATEGY:Ask and Answer Questions • COMPREHENSION SKILLS: Plot Sequence • LANGUAGE:Was and Were • SPELLING:mail, rain, chain, way, play, day, took, hood, our, carry MATH:Number 10, Missing Addend, Number Sense Assessments Thursday….Spelling Test • Friday…. Unit 4 Week 1Reading Test, Read Aloud Test (from Reading Homework sheet), Spelling Test, Daily Fix-It Test, and Math Test. • Please Note: • As we begin Unit 4 in reading, students will be expected to gradually read more of the weekly test independently. Teachers will continue to read the story and the questions aloud, but students will be responsible for reading the answer choices. By the end of first grade, students will be reading the entire test on their own. LOOK January Bus Rule: Think Win-Win: Exit single file without pushing or shoving. Winter Fest First Grade will be sponsoring a Movie Basket for Winter Fest this year. We are in need of items such as: movies, popcorn, gift cards, or candy boxes. First Grade is also responsible for collecting small toys to use as prizes at Winter Fest. In lieu of these items you could help us by sending a donation of $3.00 rather than donating items. REMINDERS • Turn in BoxTops – The class with the most turned in will get a Pizza Party at the end of the 9 weeks! • January 28th – Class Group Pictures • January 30th – 100th Day of School • February 4th – Cookie Dough sale ends Remember to read every day!! http://schools.morgank12.org/pes
