  1. First Grade Newsletter March 24th to March 28th What are we learning? Letter to Parents Reading: How information is organized Writing: Research Skills Block: Punctuation and the long oo sound Math: Measurement Science: Interdependence and habitats Social Studies: Communication and how it has changed Dear Parents, All Beck students will be going on a field trip to Texas Motor Speedway on April 4th. A field trip form will be coming home soon for you to complete and return. Parents are permitted to attend but will not be seated with the students. You would need to drive your own car and you will sit in a different section. You will receive more details as the event gets closer. The first grade students will be taking a field trip on April 17th to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. The students will take part in a hands on plant workshop and get to plant their own mini-garden at the end. Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather; we will have a picnic lunch at the gardens after the workshop. Chaperone volunteer forms and more information will be sent home with your child this week. -The First Grade Teachers Reminders There are many exciting things going on during this time of year so be sure to check your child’s folder for information and notes that are coming home! Important Dates March 31: Progress reports available April 1 & 2: STAAR April 4: Speed to Read Field Trip April 8: Art Show at Beck April 17: First Grade Field Trip
