  2. INTRODUCTION • NPA-OPS 57A Navigation Database Management to align JAR-OPS 1 with amendment 29 to ICAO Annex 6. • Europe situation: existence of EASA type 2 LoA. • NPA-OPS 57A was sent out for public consultation on 01/06/2006 and comment period ended last 01/09/2006. EQSG

Comment Response Document • EQSG dealt with the comments at the last meeting that took place last October at JAA training organization. • 32 comments received. • No commenter opposed to the new rule. • Most of the comments requested a clarification of the new rule in terms of applicability (Nav DB types) and responsibility. • There was a comment requesting consistence between the new rule with TGL 10 P-RNAV. TGL 10 is going to be amended and to be aligned with the new rule. EQSG

  4. Comment Response Document • Other commenter suggested to extend the scope of EASA type 2 LoA to Nav DB for use on ground. JAA have not competence for extending Type 2 LoA scope. • Almost all the comments were partially accepted and the new rule text and new ACJ are much more clear and comprehensive. EQSG

Comment Response Document • The CRD of NPA-OPS 57A and amended text were reviewed also at the CNS/ATM SG’s meeting that took place last October at EASA. • The final text proposal has also taken into account their comments and recommendations. • Comment number 15 on the CRD was partially accepted. The text rule was reorganized and the new ACJ was modified in order to include definitions. EQSG

  6. Comment Response Document • OST is invited to accept the final rule text and ACJ to the rule. EQSG
