  2. Titles usedHow are they presented…

  3. Mise en scene… • The first shot in collateral show a crowed airport with everything out of focus but the characters head to tell us he's important and we should pay attention to him, this also blends him into the people and makes us feel like he's trying to hide and fit in amongst the crowd. • The location of the first is a busy LA airport which would be a good place to hide or meet Someone without it being obvious, also airports are Normally involved in a larger over bored crimes and this gives you the feeling that the film could be set abrored. The switch of the brief cases make us feel that something very criminal is going on and draws us into the film because we want to know why this was done and what's in the cases, this mystery makes the first scene very thrilling and sets it up for the rest of the film .

  4. The narrative is introduced to the audience with a long shot and one person focused far but get gradually gets closer as they walks towards the camera, the many people in the airport make it had to notice him but as closer you realise he the main character. The speech is introduced as being everyday dialogue but soon comes clear to the audiences that something is so normal. The long pause because the second character saying ‘enjoy LA’ makes you feel sceptical about what's going on and gives a sense of sarcasm.

  5. The atmosphere is created by the not knowing anything about these two characters but knowing that they will end up meeting and this is show through the filming because both characters are walking to the same point of where the camera stands and this creates a thrilling scene as you wait for them to bump into each other. There's an uneasy atmosphere when they meet and this is done through the small talk to make it look like there bumped into each other by accident.

  7. Sound track … • The music is very fast paced and comes in when the bag swap is done to show this is a significant part of the opening scene and will probably be important later on in the film. • There are two main sound effects on the opening scenes the first is with in the air port and makes you think it’s a very crowed space as an air should be, the other is in the garage, which is just a loads of different sounds you would find in standard garage e.g. people shouting, echo's, tools being dropped and engines being started etc. • The dialogue is very short and seems like they have never meet but when the bag swap takes place, you know that its not an accidental meeting.
