  2. Curriculum • Refer to curriculum timeline posted on my website. • On average, 2-3 weeks are spent on each unit • Lessons are taught using notes, visual aids, video clips, historical documents, readings and projects • There will be a cumulative exams throughout the year including a final.

  3. Mrs. Meyers Quarterly Grading Policy Each Student’s quarterly grade will be based on a variety of different elements including: Class participation 10% (see rubric; entered 3x per quarter) Assessments 65% (see breakdown) Homework 25% (see rubric) _____________________ Total 100% ***It is extremely important that students attend class regularly and do their homework on a continuous basis in order to reinforce important information learned. I strongly encourage them to check the student/parent portal.

  4. Cumulative Exams in 8th Grade S.S. • The first cumulative exam will be the quarterly in November, followed by the mid-term in January/February. • The mid-term will cover all material taught from September through January. • The final exam is cumulative, therefore it will cover the entire year. • All review packets and review materials and games can be found on my website. Please visit often!!

  5. Keys To Success • Stay organized • Follow instructions • Seek extra help/attend homework center • Utilize binders, website, calendars, Schoology and remind • Review all notes daily • Visit my website and begin to prepare for unit exams one week in advance.

Staying in contact is so important. I encourage communication at all times!
