  1. Charity Society for All Ages “AMAGDARI” Tbilisi, Georgia

Mission Statement Charity Society for All Ages “Amagdari” was established in July 2009 as a non-governmental, non-profit legal person with the mission to contribute through its social and humanitarian activities aimed primarily at elderly members of the society to the overall improvement of the quality of life of all generations of the comparative society.

  3. Basic Goals • Provision of inclusion of elderly and veterans in social life of the contemporary society. Provision of legal support for them and protection of their rights • Activities aimed at eradication of problems related to ageing • Work on issues of study and work for younger generations; their social integration according to their respective skills and abilities • Support development of intergenerational cooperation • Establishment of contacts with organizations of similar profile in other countries and development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

  4. Membership • Member of the society could become any physical or legal person who recognizes the charter of the society, its aims and objectives and pays membership fee established by the board. • The Society is free to set up regional and territorial structural units and departments within the territory of Georgia and abroad. The number of members of the society is not limited. • Property and finance of the society are comprised of the membership fee, charitable donations and its economic activity. • The profit received from economic activity is used exclusively for realization of the mission based on its charter and for charitable objectives.

  5. Management Structure The supreme governing body of the Society is a General Meeting of Founders. The meeting selects its board for a term of 4 years with limited number of up to 17 members. The members of the Board elect the chairmen for the period of 4 years. One and the same person could be selected as a chairman for 2 consecutive terms. Members of the board are selected at the general meeting of the members of the society held once in 2 years. Organization produces periodic newspaper “Amagdari”

  7. Scientific-Advisory Board on Ageing • In 2012 Scientific-Advisory Board on Aging at the Parliamentary Committee on Health and Social Affairs was established. Board is chaired by the head of the Parliamentary Committee of Health and Social Affairs. • Chairman of the Charity Society for All Ages “Amagdari” was elected as a Co-chair of the Board

  8. Ongoing initiatives • Organization of competition for café and restaurants of Tbilisi city • Organization of Olympic games for veterans and elderly. As a first stage establishment of the Federation International of Sport Veterans and Aged Sport Enthusiasts “FISVASE” which will serve as a base for the organization of annual summer and winter games at the level of towns with involvement of respective heads of the municipalities into the organizational committees.

Development of partnerships: Grant opportunities Visegrad Grant – Standard Grant Program • The new Standard Grant program for the Eastern Partnership region offers financial support to • projects that develop cooperation between the Visegrad Group (V4) countries (Czech Republic, • Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, • Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) • Basic conditions: • - good project idea • - cooperation with at least 2 partners from V4 countries and at least a single (1) partner • from any EaP country (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine) • Main advantages: • - any project category or topic (culture, science and research, education, environment, • town-twinning) • - most legal entities eligible for support (NGOs, schools, municipalities, natural persons) • - short and simple on-line application form • - up to 80% of the grant paid in advance • - average support €10,000 per project • More information: • www.visegradfund.org/v4eap/standard • http://visegradfund.org/v4eap/standard/

  10. Development of partnerships: Grant Opportunities (cont.) Eurasia Partnership Foundation – Open Door Grant Program Eurasia Partnership Foundation invites proposals for the Open Door Grant Program. Open Door Grant program is open for registered Georgian non-profit and other civil society organizations. In exceptional cases, however, Open Door Program can fund other types of organizations, if their proposals involve solutions of salient problems facing Georgian communities. Proposals submitted through Open Door Program should match EPF’s mandate and introduce innovative and at the same time feasible solutions to local problem(s) that are identified as priority based on reliable research and analysis. Proposed methodology must clearly demonstrate broad public engagement in identifying problems, finding solutions, and advocating for and implementing changes. Ideally, submitted proposals would lead to tangible and measurable social, political, economic, and/or behavioral changes at a local, regional, or national levels.
