  1. Getting to Know Your Base Group By: Carlos, Mohammad, Michelle, Liliana

  2. My place of ancestry is Poland. Mountains and forests are the major geologic features. Tatras, the mountains, were formed and shaped by glacial erosions.

  3. The geologic event that my family and I experienced, was seeing a small avalanche going through the mountains. They are very common in winter season and I was lucky to see it with my own eyes, but thankfully I was in the resort, which made my family and me safe since avalanches are quite dangerous.

  4. The Tatra Mountains are very popular. It is also known as "winter capital" of Poland.

  5. My place of ancestry is Poland too. One of the geologic features includes the bodies of water, such as the Baltic Sea. This sea is linked to the White Sea and White Sea Canal.

  6. My family and I had experienced a very severe storm while at the beach along the Baltic Sea with crazy winds. There were huge waves and the water spread all over the place, even beyond the sand, while the sky got dark .

  7. Huge storms influence parts of the world by causing many floods. They also travel throughout, spreading all over the world. This changes the weather in a whole bunch of places and comes along with all the after effects.

  8. My country of ancestry is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. One of the geologic features includes the Ameca River.

  9. My parents were on their honeymoon and a hurricane hit while they were sailing. There were a lot of waves and their ship got knocked down but yet they still survived.

  10. Hurricanes influence other parts of the world by destroying homes, and beaches.

  11. My place of ancestry is Pakistan. Pakistan's terrain is flat Indus Plain in east; mountains in north and northwest. Towards the south it has the Arabian sea. One of the geologic features that Pakistan has to offer is the Indus River. It is the longest river in Pakistan and the twenty-first largest river in the world. It is often considered the life line of Pakistan.

  12. Prior moving to the states my family lived Pakistan. Flooding is one experience my grandparents have experienced first hand when they went to visit the Indus River. The flooding of the Indus river caused a lot of damage. It ruined markets, homes, buildings, and farmlands.

  13. The river played a huge part in transportation of goods, agriculture and crop production. It also brought many tourist to the country to see the river and scientists to discover new artifacts or fossils.
