Expectations • Student Behaviors • Be prompt • Be ready to learn when class begins. • Be prepared • Have materials with you and know due dates. • Be a polite and positive participant • Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. • Be productive • Turn in work on time, and always do your best. • Be a problem solver • Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate

Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. • Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. • Honor the ideas and opinions of others. • Offer to help. • Be responsible with property and belongings. • Feet Down; Head Up; Eyes Open

Expectations • Responsibility for Coursework • Bring notebook, textbook, planner, USB flash drive, and appropriate writing tools to class. • Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. • All physical assignments are located and should be turned in to the class work bin. • Online assignments will be submitted electronically

  11. Class Room Rules • Follow Directions the FIRST time they are given. (hint: LISTEN) • Be willing to accept responsibility for your learning experience. 50/50 (You & I) • Be on time, check board/class page for assignment, and start your work. • Be quiet and respectful. (Just because you do not find the course interesting, does not mean that everyone shares your opinion.)

  12. Class Room Rules • No Profanity. (Trust me, failing to hold the tongue is a sign of weakness.) • Stay in your seat till the bell rings. (Non-Negotiable!!!!!) • No Sleeping. (If you sleep on the job, you will get fired.)

Procedures • Students are to come in, log into computers, check Class page for assignment, and get started. • Bell ringers are to be completed each day, usually within the first 10 minutes of class. • Upon leaving class, students MUST submit an Exit Pass for the day. • Further instructions will be given Bell Ringers & Exit Passes will count as part of your grade

Procedures • Absences • Students should know when they have been absent • they are to hand in their attendance note to me and collect make-up work from their "class labeled" work bin/engrade/class page. • Check with a fellow classmate • Sign up for X-time to stay on track • Check Engrade/ Class Site • Work will not be accepted for full credit without an EXCUSED note from office • Late work will be deducted by 10% per day after due date + 1day grace. • Ex. Assignment due Monday; have Tuesday grace period; Wednesday starts the 10% deduction.

  15. Procedures • Bathroom • Passes will be issued at teacher’s discretion • Please attempt to use the bathroom between classes. • Do NOT interrupt class to ASK to go.

  16. Policies • Homework • Very seldom will homework be assigned. • When it is materials needed for the assignment will be provided and/or accessible. (i.e. library, internet, book) • It is to be returned on due date • Late policy still applies

  17. Policies • Food/Drink • NO FOOD/DRINK of any kind should be brought beyond unrestricted area. Any food/drink seen in restricted areas will be removed and thrown away. • You must eat on YOUR own time. • Breakfast- cafeteria • Between Classes • Lunch- cafeteria • Between Classes

  18. Policies • Cell Phones • NOT ALLOWED/NOT NEEDED • With exception of a possible class assignment, in which you will be notified of PRIOR to its need. • See Student Handbook

  19. Policies • Internet Usage • See Internet License Agreement • Failure to adhere to this agreement will result in suspension of license, alternative assignments, and possible removal from this class. • A tracking software is used to track each student’s internet surfing and viewing.

  20. Consequences • First/Second Offense- Verbal warning • first- aloud  • second-private meeting w/ Ms. G while others work quietly

  21. Consequences • Third Offense- Written • referral sheet to an assistant principal • Student will serve In-School-Suspension (ISS) or Detention

  22. Consequences • After Third Offense- Suspension from school • Handled by administrators
