  4. What is LMS? • Commonly known as LMS (Learning Management System) • A fully integrated web-based e-learning solution • Accessible from anywhere ..   32. Download by saving the files to your Desktop, HDD or your thumb drive DOWNLOAD THE ZIP FILE LABELLED “CONTENTS” DrKBM - INSTED

  33. Download the relevant files to your computer, thumb-drive or HDD • NOTE: users are not encouraged to open the file in the LMS DrKBM - INSTED

  34. Change Password • Users are advised to change their password … • Will be covered under AIMS DrKBM - INSTED

  40. Create a new portfolio for one of the courses that you are teaching ** (**Semester courses will be integrated by ITD into the system….. Use FETCH COURSE ) Under MY PORTFOLIO click NEW PORTFOLIO for new unregistered course DrKBM - INSTED

  41. Fill in the details of the course … before submit to the system DrKBM - INSTED

  42. Leave the portfolio Options as is …. SUBMIT DrKBM - INSTED

  43. Check ……. A new course is added to the Portfolio Manager To add and upload notes, documents, announcements, etc … click Manage DrKBM - INSTED

  44. PRACTICAL EXERCISES • Create an ANNOUNCEMENT in your portfolio …… welcoming users to the course and about the commencement of the course. • ANNOUNCEMENT MANAGER • NEW ANNOUNCEMENT  Fill in  Submit DrKBM - INSTED

  45. Managing Document • DOCUMENT MANAGER • New Document  Fill in details  attach files  options  SUMBIT DrKBM - INSTED

  46. Initiating a Forum • FORUM MANAGER • New forum – topic is optional  create topic  SUBMIT GO TO LMS 0009 AND PARTICIPATE IN THE FORUM DrKBM - INSTED

Topics Knowledge identification Information search Knowledge generation Knowledge organization Knowledge communication Knowledge use For each topic create the notes that you are going to in the “NOTES MANAGER” See example Example: Knowledge management Use “sample for training” downloaded from LMS 009 DrKBM - INSTED

  50. NOTES MANAGER – To create a note (Table of Contents) in your portfolio …… • (INTRODUCTION) about your expectation of the course. • Week 1 topics • Week 2 topics … etc • The Table of Contents must be created first before the details of the notes can be inserted DrKBM - INSTED
