  2. Summary – Metric Equivalents To convert from: • Larger metric units to smaller metric units (kg g  mg), you multiple by 10 for each move to the right. • Shortcut - move the decimal point 1 space to the right () for each space you count from the “FROM” unit to the “TO” unit.
