    2. Tier 2 Criteria Tier 2 Criteria-Tpri Tier 2 Criteria- Tejas LEE Reports can be found on the Tango website: http://10.150.254.90/TDA/ Tier 2 Reports Teacher- TPRI Grouping Mat by Tier Grade Level- TPRI Grouping Mat By Tier

    3. Changing Tiers on the Palm Pilot Once students have been given a benchmark (BOY, MOY, EOY) they will be assigned a tier based on the previous criteria. A teacher may change a students tier assignment. The teacher will log on to Tango Rx (on the palm) and select the given benchmark (BOY) that has already been completed. The teacher will then tap on results. This will give the teacher a list of her students. Tap and hold the name of the student whose tier needs to be changed. A window will pop up with the option to change the tier. Note: In order for a student to be able to be progress monitored correctly, he/she must be identified on the palm as a tier 2. nn

    4. Progress Monitoring TPRI PMER- Progress monitoring for Emergent Readers PMBR- Progress monitoring for Beginning Readers TEJAS LEE MPLE- Monitorio del progreso para lectores emergentes MPLP- Monitorio del progreso para lectores principantes

    5. TPRI- PMER Who : Kinder and 1st grade students who have been identified as Tier 2 or Tier 3 students. When: Every 2 weeks after benchmark is given. * 1st grade only does PMER between BOY and MOY What: Kinder: Letter name/sound and listening comprehension (required) 1st Grade: Blending, segmenting and listening comprehension (required)

    6. Special Rules and other Important Information PMER- Kinder Set 2 only tests letter name and sounds The 5 Wrong rule: If the student makes 5 consecutive errors in the letter sound activity, the activity is ended 100% Correct Rule: Once a student is able to identify all 26 letter names and sounds for 2 consecutive progress monitoring sessions, they will no longer have to complete that task. There are some optional activities that can be done to give the teacher more information.

    7. Special Rules and Other Important Information PMER- 1st Grade Set 2 only tests Blending and Segmenting If a student is unable to answer more than 3 questions in set 2 blending, then use Kinder PMER (the palm will prompt you to do so) PMER is done for 1st grade students at the BOY to the MOY, unless students are still not reading at MOY. ** There are only 7 progress monitoring sets for PMER 1st grade. If you have a student that will more than likely need to continue with PMER after MOY, then you may want to consider starting that student at Kinder PMER. There are some optional activities that can be done to give the teacher more information.

    8. TPRI- PMBR Who: 1st grade ( after MOY) and 2nd Grade When: Every 2 weeks after benchmark is given What: Fluency and comprehension Students begin with story 1 of their grade level If they are frustrated they will go back to story 1 of the previous grade level Students are timed for 2 minutes. The last story they read without being frustrated is their last story.

    9. Special Rules and other Important Information PMBR - if a student is frustrated they will go back to story 1 of the previous grade. Students may only read a story as their final story 2 times. Students read a story for a maximum of 2 minutes and answer 2 general comprehension questions. The teacher taps and holds the last word that the student read when the 2 minutes are up. If the student finishes before the 2 minutes are up then the teacher will tap and hold the stop button.

    10. TEJAS LEE- MPLE Who: Kinder students who were tested with Tejas LEE and were identified as tier 2 or tier 3 When: Every 2 weeks after benchmark is given What: Letter name and sounds and listening comprehension (set 2 only tests letter name and sound) 100% correct rule (letter sound) 30 correct in 2 consecutive- student will not be given this part of the test anymore Five in a row wrong rule Discontinue testing if they miss 5 letter sound items in a row

    11. TEJAS LEE-MPLP Who: 1st and 2nd grade students who were tested with Tejas LEE and have been identified as Tier 2 or Tier 3. When: Every 2 weeks after Benchmark is given What: Grade 1: students begin with word lists (1-6). A word list is read successfully when 15 or more words are read correctly. Once all word lists are read successfully the student will begin on grade 1 story. If on the first administration all 6 word lists are read successfully, then the students will begin reading story 1.

    12. TEJAS LEE- MPLP Grade 2: Start with Grade 2 story 1 of the MPLP. Students have a maximum of 2 minutes to read the story. Students will then be given 2 general comprehension questions. If a student is frustrated at grade 2 story 1 they will then be taken back to Grade 1 word list 1. They will read the word lists until they successfully read all 6 word lists. Then they are able to read Grade 1 story 1.

    13. MPLP Rules A word list can be read as many times until student is successful at reading it (15 or more words correct). Once a list is read successfully a student may not go back an read it. The once back rule: If a student is frustrated on a story he will be moved back a story. A student can only go back to a story once. Once the story is read twice, it cannot be read again.

    14. GOOD THING! The good thing is that as long as a student is identified as tier 2 or tier 3 on the palm, the palm will automatically take you to the correct progress monitoring assessment.
