  2. Do you ever feel like THIS when it comes to your computer?

  3. Today’s Goals • Creating Email Folders in Outlook • Calendar Sharing in Outlook • Creating a Powerpoint Lesson • Presenting your Powerpoint Lesson • Creating Newsletters in Publisher • Additional Teacher Requests

  4. Creating Folders in Outlook • Click on Outlook icon • Highlight an email you have received • Click on the ‘move’ icon • Click new…. • Be sure you are working from the inbox—not another folder

  5. Sharing Calendars in Outlook • Click on ‘Open a Shared Calender’ • Click on ‘Name’ • Type ‘K’ • Click on ‘Connie Kerr’ • This allows you to look at all meetings, progress monitoring and other testing schedules, the days I am not on campus, etc.

  6. Creating a Powerpoint Lesson • Click on the Powerpoint Icon • Click on Format, then Slide Design • Choose a Design on the right side of your screen • Type your title on the first page • Click Insert, then New Slide • Begin typing your lesson information, clicking Insert, then New Slide when you are ready to switch to the next slide.

Now Let’s Have a Little Fun! • Click Slide Show, then Slide Transition • Choose a transition between slides or choose Random Transition (at bottom) • Decide on the Speed of the transition, if you would like a Sound to accompany, when you want the transition to occur, etc. • You may Apply this transition to All Slides or you may apply transitions to individual slides.

  8. Now Let’s Have a Little Fun! • Choose Format, then Slide Layout • To the right you will see different types of slides. Choose a layout that includes a picture or graph. • Type your caption, then click on the picture icon • Choose a picture and click OK.

  9. Now Let’s Have a Little Fun! • How did she DO that? • Click on Slide Show again, then Animation Schemes • Now choose an animation scheme you like. You may Apply to All Slides or individual slides

  10. Now Let Have a Little Fun! • What about a video or sound? Sure! • Click Insert, then Movies and Sounds • For now, just choose a sound from the clip organizer, since you don’t have any videos to add • You may choose for the sound to play automatically or when you click the mouse

  12. Now Let’s Have a Little Fun! • You can also write on your slideshow with a marker or highlighter. • Click on Slide Show, then View Show • Choose a slide, then move your cursor to the bottom left-hand corner of the screen • Click on the ‘pen’ • Click and hold the mouse to write on the slide

  13. OK. Enough Nonsense! Let’s Look at Publishing a Newsletter • Click on the Publisher Icon • Click on Publications for Print, then on Newsletters • Choose a Newsletter Format you like • It will be too small to increase the size at the top with the magnifying glass • Click and type

Creating Newsletters • You may change the color scheme, format, font, etc. to the left of the screen • To change the picture, right click on the picture and choose Change Picture, then from Clip Art • You may choose from the clip art on file on the computer, or you may click on the Clip Art on Office Online link
