Introducing a Social Problem • In Colombia, to be more specific, at it´s capital, Bogotá, they´re passing by a strong social problem. • Truckers are upset at government authorities since they had increase extremely the taxes for transportation of goods. • This problem has created a big feeling of anger in the truckers toward the government. • As you read this presentation, you´ll know more about what cause this situation, what effects it had produce and how it could be solved.

Cause and Effect I Cause A Effect A • The Truckers in the capital city of Bogota are upset because of the high taxes need to pay for transportation of goods. • The truckers have decide to block one of the most important routes in the city with their trucks until their situation change. • In addition to this, this blocking of the street had caused a big traffic jam affecting 200,000 people approximately who transit by this route. This is an image of the big traffic jam this problem has cause.

Cause and Effect II Cause B Effect B • The trucks are still blocking the city´s west routes since the truckers were arrested by the police and the key´s from the trucks are in the truckers hands or in the worst of the case, they´re lost. • Bogota citizens are really upset with this situation since their daily duites or appointments have been stop since the main routes from the city are block. They are affected in many ways but mainly, their time is been waste.

  5. Possible Solutions Solution A • Colombia´s government have suggest to make a meeting with its vice- president, Angelino Garzon, and the Minister of Transportation, German Cardona Gutierrez, in order to come up with a solution. Angelino Garzon in his meeting with Minister of Transportation and other government authorities.

  6. Possible Solutions Solution B We as a group, suggest that the government hear the truckers advice to low a little bit the taxes in order to prevent we´ve called: The Truckers Revolution.
