  1. JEM: Status and plans • Production / commissioning • Plans

  2. Production status • 45 modules available : 41 production + 4 pre-production • 32 in JEP crates + 13 spares (4 @ CERN) Yield so far: A few issues discovered during boundary scan, one JEM and one input issue found after shipment to CERN • 3 defective JEMs found : • one short on a connector • one chip mounted in wrong orientation • JEM returned from CERN probably BGA issue • 18 input modules sent to re-work, half of them with BGA issues, the one returned from CERN to be inspected at Mainz • 2 defective control modules

  3. Module rework • Most defective modules out for re-work for a couple of months now • R & S seem to have been able to successfully re-work all of them • Currently waiting for X-ray • Expect them being shipped next week A few JEMs waiting on the shelves untested due to lack of daughter modules. Need to be crate tested and shipped to CERN as soon as daughter modules are back from re-work

  4. Mainz test rig Mainz test rig comprising • 1 6U crate w. TTCvi/vx, 2 DSSs, 1LSM • 2 CPUs (VP315) • 1 processor crate • 1 prototype CMM • 1 prototype TCM • (1 prototype processor crate, backplane connectors wrong type) Test rig required in MZ until all modules successfully reworked and tested !  German test rig (HD)

  5. Plans • Re-work and test remaining modules (spares!) • Next commissioning session July 3rd: • Confirm last weeks test results (see Andreas slides) • Hope for many more pre-processor channels to be made available • Additional tests with CMMs (jet merger code?)
