Current Activities • TRB Task Force on Road Safety Workforce Development • NHI Textbook • NCHRP 17-46 University Based Course in Safety Planning • Research to Establish Professional Certification in Road Safety • (Represents: Goal 5 – Strategy 1 – Action 2) • Research or Synthesis of Leading Practices in Road Safety OJT • May Incorporate Discussion and Review of Highway Safety Functions within State DOTs
SCOHTS Task Force on Workforce Development • ALDOT Funding Research to Advance Workforce Development • Intent is to be Broad in Scope • Applicable and Suitable for Use by Others • Will Illustrate Examples with State of Alabama’s Information • Focus on Specific Areas Identified in the SCOHTS Strategic Plan • Need to Fully Develop Research Problem Statement
