CIDB (CIDB Act 38 of 2000) CIDB is a statutory body, appointed by the NDPW, governed by Act 38 of 2000, that of which requires of us to provide strategic leadership within the construction industry so as create an enabling regulatory and development framework that builds: • A total industry delivery capability to achieve South Africa’s economic and social growth • Empowerment of those historically marginalized • Improved industry standards of performance (quality, employment, skills, safety, health)

  3. CIDB Regulations • Regulations to simplify and improve the registration of grade 1 contractors were published in November 2007 • Over the counter registrations for Grade 1 which is activated within 48 hours. • Reduced fees over the three year period of registration • Simplified and shorter registration form

  4. Revised grading criteria

  5. New Tender Value Ranges and Criteria ± 30% incr.

  6. New Registration Fees Increased from R 250 no increase ± 15% increase ± 37.5% increase
