BI OBSTACLES • Clunky and cumbersome BI tools. “I just want a tool that that’s as fast and easy to use as Google.” • Ill-defined BI customer requirements. “It is exactly what I asked for but it is not what I want.” • Long lead times for BI delivery. • Lack of governance. Inconsistent operational definitions and business rules.
SIMPLER BI TOOLS • Notre Dame has opted to go with Microsoft BI Tools because: • We think they are simpler for our customers. Most already use Excel for data analytics • Central IT has a lot of experience with Microsoft BI tools (and so do many of our decentralized IT staff) • We already own the licensing for the Microsoft tools • We already have the necessary infrastructure in place e.g. SharePoint
