Stopping • Full complete STOP at the sign or the thick, solid white line • Stop before reaching any crosswalks • If your vision is blocked, move ahead slowly and prepare to stop again. • Always make sure the roadway is clear before driving into the intersection.
“4-way Stop” • Who ever stops first, goes first • When you stop to the right or left of another car, the driver on the LEFT should YIELDthe RIGHT OF WAY to the driver on the Right. • When stopped across from another driver who is turning, the vehicle continuing straight has the RIGHT OF WAY • Check traffic in all directions before entering the intersection, then move slowly forward.
YIELD • Give the RIGHT OF WAY • Stop or proceed with caution and prepare to stop • Proceed only when it’s safe to do so.
Speed Limits • Basic Speed Law: the fastest you can drive in any weather condition. • Minimum Speed Limit: Slowest you can drive without obstructing traffic. Exception is when the weather is poor. • Advisory Speed Limit: Maximum speed you should go for a specific condition or roadway. Ex. Curves or Exit Ramps
