What’s up for 2013? • Signature Rides • Rides such as the Bike MS and the Red Balloon Ride where we get a huge number of Cheesy Riders (100+) to come out to both ride and raise money for a good cause. We will have 2 of these for 2013. • Fun Rides • Rides such as the Collin Classic, Tour Dallas, and Wild Ride, and Hotter n Hell that are less focused on fundraising and more of a “register and ride”. We want to focus on increasing our involvement in these rides. • Training Rides • Informal rides where we meet at the Frito HQ or other designated location to ride together as a team on designated routes. These are FREE!!!

  6. Bike MS What is it? Charity bike ride supporting National Multiple Sclerosis Society When is it? May 4th & 5th Starts in Frisco ends at Texas Motor Speedway Who’s Invited to Join the Team? ANY PepsiCo/Frito Lay employee, friend, neighbor or family member who likes to ride a bike How good of a rider must I be? Any level – remember you don’t have to do the full distance or even both days. Whatever you can handle

Ride Options Full ride is two days and a little over 150 miles 2 half day rides – you can ride to lunch and the MS Society will bus you and your bike back to the Texas Motor Speedway Day 1 – 48 miles Day 2 – 30 miles Only ride 1 day – you do not have to ride both days Do what you can – ride as far as you can, catch one of the shuttles to lunch or the end of the ride. You can stop at any time. Day 1 of the race we will start as one team

  8. Ride Overview SAG (Support & Gear) vehicles are available if you need a ride for ANY reason. Rest stops are approximately 10 miles apart and are stocked with food and fluids. Bathroom and bike repair services are also available. Frito Lay tent on Saturday and Sunday. Food and drink available on Saturday. Have your family meet you there How do I register? Ride Overview What if you don’t want to go home May 4th: Residence Inn (National MS Society will bus you there and store your bike for day 2) Rate: $79, 10 rooms blocked (ask for Cheesy Riders) Free Breakfast, in case you want the option to grab something if you are running late to TMS. Washer/Dryers if you want to wash/dry clothes. Walking distance from food: Wendy’s, Scholtzcky’s, Sonny Bryans BBQ, Taco Bueno, Italian Bistro, Snooty Pig café and Chevron gas station. Camping: There are a few people who camp at our tent

  11. Fundraising Minimum: $300 {$.80 of every dollar goes to research and supporting local services} The NMSS provides a website to help you fundraise You can also fundraise on Facebook or any social media you use PepsiCo Gift Match matches gifts of $25 or more

  12. Fundraising Incentives Bike MS provides incentives and contests Bike MS has special perks for the Top 100 fundraisers Top fundraising Cheesy Riders will get a special edition jersey

Bike MS, Jr. • Kids between 5 years old and 11 years old can participate in Bike MS, Jr.  This is a special Bike MS ride exclusively for junior MS champions on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at Texas Motor Speedway.  • Kids Ride participants will enjoy: • Exclusive cycling time in separate age groups for younger (5-8) and older (9-11) participants; • A shorter and safer vehicle free course • Low $25 registration fee, with no fundraising minimum • Learning Civic Responsibility through fundraising for a good cause • All Kids Ride participants must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. However, parents do NOT have to be registered for the main Bike MS: Sam’s Club ride in order to register their children for Kids Ride. • Those that raise $100 will receive a Cheesy Rider Jersey

Volunteers • Every year we host the last rest stop on Day 1 of Bike MS • Great Opportunity to support the ride • Get family involved (teens can use this for service points) • Hang out with great people • Volunteers can come and go, full day not required • You just need to be old enough to hold a bike and be prepared to be thanked a lot by very tired cyclists • For more info contact Cathy Dial, Cathy.Dial@pepsico.com

  17. Event Day Logistics • Expo – Frisco Embassy Suites, Friday from 4-9pm • Start on Saturday – 7am sharp! Anyone trying to start after 8am will be SAG’d to the 1st rest stop. NO EXCEPTIONS! • MS will transport 2 pieces of luggage for free • Car Passes will be handed out in April Logistics Meeting • RV’s – Free, no hookups / free shuttles to hotels / free to camp • Ride Marshals; Sam Montag, sam@bikemart.com • Every team with 50 or more riders, MUST have a Ride Marshal • Volunteers; Lee Kilborn, 469-619-4703
