  1. help our forests

  2. What do you know about sustainable forests ? Sustainable Forests are forests that have a continuous growth cycle of trees so as the trees are cut down there are more trees growing Earth's atmosphere does the same thing as the greenhouse. Gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide do what the roof of a greenhouse does. During the day, the Sun shines through the atmosphere. Earth's surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, Earth's surface cools, releasing the heat back into the air. But some of the heat is trapped by the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. That's what keeps our Earth a warm and cozy 59 degrees Fahrenheit, on average. to replace them.

  4. The greenhouse affect • Earth's atmosphere does the same thing as the greenhouse.

  5. What is the carbon cycle and how does it affect us? With so much carbon, why isn't everything black and sooty? How can dogs be white and trees green? Because carbon, an element, combines easily with other elements to form new materials. The new stuff, called compounds, are quite different from pure carbon.

  6. Why does the use of wood help the environment ? Recycling wood/paper/cardboard reduces the demand for fresh-cut timber. Consequently, fewer trees have to be cut down and more forests can remain intact, providing habitat for plants and animals, a heat and carbon sink, and a portion of the oxygen we breathe.

  7. Why is planting trees helping to reduce climate change ? trees do the process of photosynthesis. this is when the trees turn carbon dioxide into oxygen for all the other organisms to breath. At the moment we have a lot of carbon dioxide in the air which is contributing to global warming. by planting more trees, and not cutting as many down we can help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. this is because there will be more trees to change the carbon dioxide into oxygen which is less harmless

  8. How can wood be recycled? Wood can't be "recycled" in the sense that paper, glass, or aluminum cans can be recycled, but there are many ways to reuse wood. Wood from houses is often re-used, for example, to build new houses. Wood can also be chopped down into mulch and used in landscaping, or to make particle board.
