  1. Select Team Man Up Offense: Tiger

  2. Tiger: Set-up • Set-up (Tiger) Tiger is very effective if a team has a good mix of feeders and inside finishers, but maybe lacks an outside threat. Like Black Knight, Tiger starts in a 1-4-1 and ends in a 3-3.

  3. X3 Ideally, X3 is ideally a good feeder and inside finisher. Ideally, X2 is a capable of playing the middle position in a 3-3. X6 X5 X4 X2 Ideally, X6 is a good left-handed feeder and inside finisher. Ideally, X4 is a good inside finisher. Ideally, X5 is a good outside shooter. Ideally, X1 is a good outside shooter. X1 Tiger: Set-up

  4. Tiger: Execution • Execution (Tiger) The ball moves around the perimeter before it is transferred to X3 at “X”. X4 and X5 are going to exchange via a “slip-pick” (they will just brush shoulders on the move). On this exchange, X3 wants to look first at X4 on the cut to the crease, often the defense neglects to cover him for a second and he is open. Otherwise, he wants to look at X5 on the “pop”. Most teams will have trouble covering both of these players on the exchange. One of them will be open… As this is happening, X6 is going to roll off the crease to the back left (he will be playing the bottom left in the 3-3). At the same time the top middle (X1) and the back left (X2) want to exchange. If none of the initial looks are open, X3, can throw the ball ahead to X5 on the “pop” or back to X6 on the roll-off. Then we will play out of the 3-3.

  5. X3 X6 X5 X4 X2 X1 Tiger: Execution

  6. X6 On the carry, X3 wants to look first to X4 on the cut to the goal, then to X5 on the pop, then to X6 on the roll-off. If none of these looks is on, X3 should settle and play out of the 3-3. X3 X4 X1 X5 X2 Tiger: Execution

  7. Tiger: Final Thoughts • Tiger: Final Thoughts Black is a very intricate play that requires good timing and the ability of X3, the carry player to read the field and make good decisions. Because this play starts in the 1-4-1, it is an excellent complimentary play to Black Knight. Both should be used interchangeably to fool the defense. Also, the timing on the the exchange of X4 and X5 requires practice and familiarity. X3, X5 and X4 should understand the movements of the other instinctively.
