  2. RPH RMO Selection • Historically more positions than applicants • Until last year when applicants > positions • Therefore still refining selection processes but MERIT selection a public sector standard and overriding requirement along with equity and transparency for all hospitals

  3. Merit Selection RPH • Receive list of applicants from PMCWA who list RPH as 1st choice place of employment • RPH Selection Committee review and categorise applicants: • Directors of Clinical Training • Senior Education Registrars • Medical Administration Registrar • Manager Medical Employment Services • Senior Administration officer, Medical Employment Services

  4. Merit Selection RPH • All applicants considered but favourable factors include: • Good referee reports or term assessments • Fulfilment of previous contracts at RPH • Current or previous employee status of RPH: • Understanding and compliance with current RPH policies and procedures

Merit Selection RPH • Understanding and compliance with current RPH policies and procedures • Commitment to RPH vision, mission and values of Service, Excellence, Respect, Valuing Staff, Integrity and Organisation Learning (SERVIO) • Score according to the Suitability Matrix- demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements via essential and desirable selection criteria

Merit Selection RPH • Last year RPH PGY 1 doctors who listed RPH as their first choice and who were assessed on merit as suitable were supported as first priority for RMO positions • TBD if same will apply this year as RPH will be reducing numbers in SMHS reconfiguration with FSH • PGY 2+ doctors ranked according to CV, selection criteria and merit • RMO positions then offered according to rank • Can take into account applicants PMCWA Workforce Development Score

  7. So ensure: • CV good quality and up to date • Address selection criteria • Provide covering letter for important issues you would like us to consider • Ensure En of Term Assessments up to date Issues • May not be able to offer positions to all applicants assessed as suitable on merit and will go back into PMCWA suitable pool • Unlikely to need to consider 2nd preference applicants?
