  2. GAME : DO YOU LIKE TRAVELLING? Rule: You are in two groups A and B. You will choose the provinces you want to visit on the map. You have to tell exactly the places by using the cues.

  3. CUES: LONG AN It is one of the beautiful biggest bridges in Asean countries. It is the place where Uncle Ho went aboard to find out the way to save the nation. HO CHI MINH CITY

  4. CUES: HIGHLAND PROVINCES It is a pagoda in the shape of a lotus which was built in 1049. HA NOI It is a mountain resort whose altitude is 1500m with some wonderful places to visit: Xuan Huong Lake, pine forest, waterfall,… Altitude: chiều cao so với mực nước biển

  13. Unit 6: AN EXCURSION PART A: READING I. PRE- READING 1. Small talk: a. Have you ever traveled to these places? b. Do you like to make an excursion to one of these places? c. What should you plan before travelling? 2. Situation: Reading an excursion of Lan and her classmates through her letter to Minh.

  14. Dear Minh, I’m writing to tell you a piece of news. The first term is coming to an end soon and my school is going to have some days off. On this occasion, my class is visiting some caves near Hanoi as we have recently studied rock formations. Beside, many of us have never been inside a cave, so I suppose the trip will be very interesting. At first, we wanted to travel to Thay Pagoda because it is only over 20 kilometres away, and we could go on a day excursion. However, only today have we learnt that the caves near Thay Pagoda are closed until after Tet. So we are visiting the ones near Huong Pagoda instead. A night campfire on a two-day trip will be a great event in our schooldays! To make the trip cheap, we are bringing our own food and sharing buses with some other classes. It is much warmer now. I believe we’re going to enjoy good weather with lots of sunshine. The only problem I seem to have is getting my parents’ permission. They may not want to let me stay the night away from home.
