LED Bulb System LED Design: Pugh’s Matrix According to the Pugh’s matrix, the 6 small LED concept has been chosen to continue the development of the project.
LED Bulb System Choice of the LED: For each concept, the Pugh’s Matrix has been estblished in order to choice the best LED. For the concept chosen, LED are tiny and are able to be embelled in an electronical board.
The choice of the led driver has been made with the following specifications: • 1A output at least, • VOUT ≥ 12V, • VIN = 24V, • Allow PWM Dimming (dedicated input), • Step-down (buck) regulator with efficiency as high as possible, • Switching regulator control, • Bulk as tiny as possible.
List of led drivers, which are able to match with the previous specifications: According to these specifications the MAX16820 from MAXIM has been chosen since it is the most efficient product for this application.
