  3. Birth Control Pills: • Stops ovulation & prevents implantation. • 97-99.9% effective…IF TAKEN PROPERLY • Take 1 pill everyday, at the same time

  4. Birth Control Pill • Offers no protection against STD’s • Side effects: irregular menstrual bleeding , nausea, weight gain, headaches, dizziness, and breast tenderness , mood changes , blood clots (rare in women under 35 who do not smoke)

  5. Condoms • Prevents sperm from entering vagina • 88-98% effective • Thin latex sheath that fits over penis & collects sperm

  6. Birth Control Shot • Prevents ovulation • 97-99% effective • Injection once every 3 months
