  3. What is Resume? The resume is a well presented 1-2 page summary of your background and credentials. A resume is not all-embracing; it should be targeted to a particularjob in a particular field. The sole purpose of your resume is to effectively sell your credentials for the purpose of employment.

Header • Your identity and to contact you Objective • To check if their requirement and your objective match Education • To check if you have the basic qualification for the job/ • internship you are applying for Practical Experience/ Projects • To see if you have done anything that reflects your potential capability. Also, to see how different are you from your peers Skills • How equipped are you in terms of your personality traits as • well as occupational skills Other (Not in Order) • Is there anything else significant and relevant you want to • showcase, that will add value to your resume

  6. Resume Do’s Use reverse chronology (the most recent position is your first entry) to organize your education and experience. Think of your resume as an ad for your qualifications, not an autobiography. Show the reader why you’re a good match for a particular job. Format your resume clearly and begin each bullet point with a verb. Proofread many times and also Ask others to look at your resume. Included paid and unpaid experience to demonstrate the range of what you’ve done. Make several resumes, with each one targeting a particular field.

  7. Resume Don'ts Make your reader dig for information. Tell everything you’ve ever done. Use incomplete sentences Include personal information, such as age, race, marital or health status. Make your resume too dense, busy or cute. Use a font smaller than 10 point. Use fancy fonts that are hard to read.
