This study project, led by RENAM, focuses on the development of dark-fiber-based research networks in Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, and the Southern Caucasus regions. With a consortium of partners, the project aims to assess fiber infrastructure availability, conduct case studies, and deploy scenarios for dark fiber networks. The potential impact includes connecting scientific and educational institutions, benefiting over 78,500 university students in 7 cities. To enhance project visibility and awareness, activities such as trainings, workshops, and website maintenance are key. The ultimate goal is to stimulate initiatives for successful fiber network deployment in the targeted regions.
