  1. LONI Pipeline JagadeeswaranLONI,UCLA

  2. Site PI: Arthur W Toga • Director, Laboratory of Neuro Imaging • Co-Director, Brain Mapping Center • Director, Training Program in Neuroimaging • Editor-in-Chief, NeuroImage • Principal Investigator, CCB

  3. Core 2 Team • Jagadeeswaran Rajendiran • Arash Payan • Jia Wei Tam • Celia Cheung • Cornelius Chojatkashani (Neurology representative)

  4. Our Contribution • Pipeline Software • Collect user requirements/ feedback • Design, develop & maintain product • User-driven application development • Software is continuously evolving with input from internal users and external collaborators • Collaborators have access to LONI resources • Hands-on user training sessions

  5. Our Contribution (contd...) • Pipeline Application • Runs locally on laptop OR on Sun Grid • Front end to LONI Grid (600 processors) • Dissemination • SIG meetings (every two weeks) • Hands on user training sessions • Documentation/ Wiki/ Manuals

  6. Pipeline v4 Progress • Revamped version 4 - Flexible, extensible data model - Modular redesign - Powerful threading model - Minimal Synchronization - Elegant/ easy to use user interface - Redesigned XML • Flexible architecture • Can run locally on laptop/desktop • Client-server option available • Client can connect to LONI server - Highly scalable (> 1000 inputs) • Any DRMAA grid with: - LONI’s Cerebro: Sun Xeon Grid Sun Microsystems is collaborating with LONI in Grid development to support the Pipeline

  7. Tools Integration • Pipeline v4 batch mode - Can execute complete (data-bound) workflows using command line (“-e” option) - External Tool (eg: Slicer) can query Pipeline for list of required parameters - List of parameters expressed in readable XML - Allows for binding parameters on the command line - Batch mode tied to local execution • Module Library (Ontology) • Continue to describe/add Freesurfer modules • In Progress - Getting list of all parameters - Providing user feedback on progress (status messages) - XNAT toolkit

  8. Goals • Release a robust version • Successful integration with Slicer, XNAT • Provide easy access to computational resources through Pipeline • Build useful workflows with BIRN collaborators • Documention/ Manuals/ Wiki • Hands on user training sessions • http://pipeline.loni.ucla.edu/ • Latest distribution • Forum: Kudos/ bug reports
