Emirates Internet Exchange (EMIX) Overview: Connecting the Region Through Fiber Optics

Emirates Internet Exchange (EMIX) is a pivotal regional hub for internet connectivity, launched in September 1998. It aims to provide neighboring countries with access to high-speed internet via fiber optic technology at competitive prices. EMIX's infrastructure includes connections to several international fiber optic cables and earth stations, ensuring faster and more reliable service compared to satellite links. By promoting local internet traffic and diverse service options, EMIX enhances regional communication and supports ISP connectivity within the UAE and beyond.
