  3. FILEDS(: • Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Inventions • Although few details of his life are known, he is regarded as one of the leading scientist.

  4. BIOGRAPHY • Archimedes lived for 75 years. In the Sand Reckoned, Archimedes gives his Fathers name as PHIDIAS, an astronomer about whom nothing is unknown. • A solider was enraged by this, and killed Archimedes with his sword.

  5. 5 FACTS!!!! • 1. Died in 212 BC • 2. Archimedes had proven that the sphere has two thirds of the volume and surface area of the cylinder • 3. Archimedes is generally considered to be the greatest mathematician. • 4. He also defined the spiral. • 5. Unlike his inventions, the mathematical writings of Archimedes were little known in antiquity
