Mission Statement Our mission is that this school community both in its teaching and environment affirms the uniqueness and fosters the potential of each individual.
What does respect mean? When I hear the word respect I think of ………… When I am treated with respect, I feel ……… How do we show disrespect in school - actions, words, behaviour, attitude? What could a student do in school and class to show respect for learning? How do we show our class mates that we respect them?

Responsibilities of students • To be respectful, co-operative and courteous to all within the school environment • To observe the school rules • To be on time for classes • To have correct texts and equipment • To attempt all homework, revision etc to the best of student ability • To catch up on notes missed during absence
Responsibilities of students cont.... • To avoid causing or participating in disruption during class • To comply with the teachers instruction regarding classroom layout and seating plan • To avoid behaviour which may adversely affect the education of other students in class • To wear full school uniform • To respect school property and property of others • To move without delay from class to class
Positive Behaviour • There is a merit system in operation for 1st and 2nd Years. • Students who strive for excellence in all areas of school will be awarded merits by individual teachers. • Students who receive 20 merits a term will be issued with a Good News Postcard from their Year Head, Deputy Principal or Principal. • Students who go the extra mile can automatically be issued with a Good News Postcard.
MERIT • Students must meet at least 3 of the following criteria: • Co-operative • Hardworking • Optimistic • Creative • Respect • Thoughtful • Courtesy • Other
The criteria which are used in the merit are important skills also. When are these skills very important in your life? Give three (3) examples of each skill and we will share all your views near the end of the lesson.
The message is simple........ • Do your best.... • Be mindful of others.... • If at first you don’t succeed try and try again...
Our Prayer • Dear God...I hope that you are listening to me. • Help me today to be a decent human being. • I would like to work hard and be kind and respectful towards everyone I meet. • Sometimes things are difficult for me but I know that with your help I can reach for the stars.
