  1. Are Solid State Drives Taking Over Hard Drives?      Nowadays, Solid State Drives are a new thing for our organizations. However, little did we               know they were in the market for quite a long time. They have been commercialized                   recently. In this article, we have penned down what is a Solid State drive and what future it               holds. The term Solid-state came derived from electronic circuitry that is built out of             semiconductors. It was originally used to define devices that used semiconductors rather             than vacuum tubes, including the simple transistor radio. Most of the devices are built             around chips and semiconductors now. Also, in SSDs, the primary storage is through           semiconductors rather than magnetic media used in hard drives.                                                                                                                 Some people compare the SSDs with flash drives that are connected to the PC using the               USB port. This is not entirely true. Both flash and solid-state drives use memory chips but                 are connected differently. SSD is placed inside your SSD, whereas flash drives are external             drives.

  2. One of the main differences between the two is the form factor; the way they are designed.                   Traditional hard drives and SSD look-alike outside, which was done to allow it to fit             anywhere a conventional hard drive fits.                                    It can be placed inside your PC or laptop like a standard hard drive since they have the                   same dimensions and use the ATA or SATA interfaces.                     SSD Versus HDD  With the advent of technology, SSDs are made to rule the electronic industry. Some of the               SSDs, including Sandisk 1TB SSD, Seagate Barracuda Fast SSD, Micron Solid State Drive, and many more, are winning over HDDs in speed and reliability.                                              Solid-state drives are the next perfect drive for your personal or commercial use and are               definitely taking over the traditional form of drives like hard drives very soon. Being new in               the commercial market, they can put a dent in our pocket, but worth every penny. It is               estimated, they will become cheaper as time goes by. As far as benefits go, there are             numerous of them. Here are the main reasons for choosing SSD over HDD. Here are a few               reasons why SSDs are better than HDDs.                                                                                                Speed  Unlike traditional hard drives, less power usage uses less power, making your rig more             energy efficient. They also have faster data access - It's so fast that you won't even see the               Windows XP loading screen. Speed is a form factor where SSD is made to shine. When you                 install an SSD to your computer, it will take a fraction of a second to load. It takes way less                     time than those traditional HDDs. On the other hand, the HDD can take more than a few               minutes to operate. SSD boosts and launches apps faster and transfers files in a matter of             minutes.                                                                                                                       Reliability and Durability   High Reliability - Because there are no moving parts inside, nothing can sidetrack it. As we               all know, an SSD has no detachable and moving parts. Therefore, they are comparatively                 safer than HDD. If something happens and your laptop falls off, your SSD remains intact               inside your laptop.

  3. When the system is off, HDD’s read/write head is parked, and when it is operating, the               head revolves in the circular motion around the drive. As HDD relies on spinning platters,               there are more chances of getting a piece of it broken if something goes wrong.                                     Noise, Power, & Life Span  I believe that no one has seen an HDD which isn't noisy. Even the quietest one is more                   boisterous than an SSD. The hard drives which work faster emit more noise and heat than               slower ones. While on the other hand, SSDs make no noise at all.                                       Hands-Down SSD Is The WINNER!  In the upcoming years, SSD will have lower prices compared to now. If you are looking at                 the form factors like speed, noise, durability, then there is no comparison for SSD.
