  1. The Church’s Sacraments Baptism

  2. There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him“. Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God“.

  3. Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?“. Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again'. (John 3 : 1 – 7)

  8. Baptism is a Death & a Resurrection Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Rom 6 : 4) buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with [Him] through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead (Col 2 : 12)

  9. Baptism is a Death & a Resurrection "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Gal 2 : 20)

  10. Baptism is a Necessity for Salvation "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mar 16 : 16) Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (Joh 3 : 3)

  11. Baptism is a Necessity for Salvation who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while [the] ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us -- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (1Pe 3 : 20 - 21)

  12. The Corelation (Link) between Baptism & the Cross "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, (Joh 3 : 14) Sanctification of the Baptism water …. With the cross …. With the Holy Oil (Myron) Immersing in water 3 times

  13. The Corelation (Link) between Baptism & the Continuous Repentance Jesus said to him, "He who is bathed needs only to wash [his] feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you" (Joh 13 : 10) and have put on the new [man] who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him (Col 3 : 10)

  14. The Corelation (Link) between Baptism & the Continuous Repentance Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary [principles] of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.

  15. The Correlation (Link) between Baptism & the Continuous Repentance For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come (Heb 6 : 1 – 5)

  16. Homework Please read St. Mathew Chapter 10 from verse 1 – 42 and identify from this chapter: a. The Rules/Conditions b. The Limits c. The Warnings of preaching. *** You can also review St. Mark 6 : 7 – 13 & St. Luke 9 : 1 – 11 in which you will find the same subject issue.
