Follow My Classroom Expectations PLEASE… • Don’t speak while others are speaking- It’s a major pet peeve of mine…sayin. • No cell phones while I’m teaching • No doing homework while we are learning in my class! (especially Math) • Ask permission to get out of your seat • Raise your hand if you want to share your ideas

  4. Consequences for Choosing NOTto Follow Expectations • Look at my face. I’ll make serious eye contact with you. • You’ll get a verbal redirection/warning to stop whatever it is your doing that’s annoying me. • You’ll get a 2nd verbal redirection/warning…there will not be a 3rd. • If you still can’t get it together…See Ya!

  5. How will I be graded? • Assessments (tests, essays, projects) • 40% of your grade • No group or take home assessments • No test/essay retakes • Essays graded using PA Writing Rubric • No extra credit on assessments • Tests may NOT leave the classroom • Late work as follows: • Earned grade reduced by 10% each day for three days. After three days, work will not be accepted. • Absentee late work will follow district guidelines

  6. Quizzes (formative assessments, plot knowledge, reading comprehension, vocabulary) • 30% of grade • Homework & Class Work • 30% of grade • 5 points will be deducted for each day that the assignment is not turned in. PLEASE NOTE: I am flexible! Upon occasion there are very valid reasons for needing extensions to complete assignments. Please call me or have your student see me to discuss a problem.
