Road transport • Itisthe most widelyusedwayof transport. • Wehave a denseroad network but somewheretheroads are ofbadquality. • There are severalmotorwayswhich link theimportantcitiesin Czech Republic and neighboringcountries.- Themainmotorway (D1) links Prague, Brno, Ostrava and cities in Poland.

  11. Railwaynetwork • Itis very dense but not so wideused transport network. • The positive thingisthatitdoesn´tdepend on the density of road traffic. • The negative aspectisthatrailwaysin Czech Republic are slowlymodernized.

Otherwaysof transport • There are 5 importantairports – Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Karlovy Vary, Pardubice.- Airtransport is mainly used for international flights (not becauseofthe small size of the Czech Republic. • There are not so many riverswhichcanbeusedforrivertransport (Labe, Vlatava).Therivers are mostly used for transport of large goods. • Pipelinetransport – itisreallyimportantbecausewehave to import raw materials such as oil or natural gas.
