  3. Point of Emphasis Suits • Rule 3-3-2 c states "A single manufacturer's logo/trademark reference, no more than 2 1/4 square inches with no dimension more than 2 1/4 inches is permitted on each item of the uniform (suit and cap[s])" • 3.3.2 Situation D states "The size of the manufacturer's logo/trade name on the swim suit or swim cap shall be measured off the swimmer's body/head.  If that measurement exceeds 2 1/4 square inches, the swim suit and/or swim cap is illegal and the swimmer will be directed to replace the swim suit or swim cap before he/she swims again."

  4. Point of Emphasis Suits • Rule 3-3-3 c also states that "Swimsuits with a FINA marking, if otherwise legal, shall be legal for NFHS competition." • If a deck official observes an illegal cap or suit, he/she will notify the referee who will enforce the PENALTIES for Articles 1,2, and 3 as noted in the rule book on pages 25-26.

Regional Information Qualifying Requirements • Swimming • If an individual (or relay team) has not recorded the minimum standard found on the NCHSAA website, the swimmer is not eligible for regional competition. • Relay teams may not use aggregate or split times. • Qualifying times shall be achieved in competition on or after the earliest date of the first meet of the season. • Only times achieved at meets with registered officials will be eligible for official entry into regionals.

  8. Regional Information Qualifying Requirements • Diving • Divers must have successfully competed in at least one high school meet in order to enter regional competition. • Coaches do not enter individuals in the diving competition unless they are capable of performing their safe 11 dives. Safety must be the utmost consideration in your decision.

Regional Information Entries • Swimming and Diving • All schools must use NCPrepSwimming.com to upload and manage results for the official regional entry process for swimmers and divers. • Instructions can be found on the NCHSAA website • Each individual is limited to a maximum of 4 events. • 3 relays and 1 individual or 2 relays and 2 individual. • A school may enter no more than four swimmers per individual event and no more than one team per relay. • When entering consideration times, enter only the events the swimmer has the best chance in which to qualify.

Regional Information Entry Deadlines • The deadline for submission of playoff entries is Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. • Late entries may be submitted to the NCHSAA and must be in by 3:00 p.m. the Monday prior to the regional (January 28th). • Use the form on the NCHSAA website. • A $50 fee will be assessed for each individual entry. No entries after this will be accepted.

Regional Information State Qualifiers • Top 8 fastest times from each regional • In order to qualify for and advance to State Championships each swimmer or relay team must have achieved the Regional Qualifying standard (automatic or consideration). • Individuals or relay teams qualifying but not intending to participate in an event of the State Championship must notify the Regional Meet Director within 30 minutes of the completion of the meet. • Remaining alternates will not advance to State Championships after that time.
