  2. Agenda • Rate codes vs. Rate levels • Most common category codes • Negotiated and contractual rates definitions • Rate updates for SRP chains • Rate updates for DCA chains (for non-EPN properties) • Rate updates for DCA (for EPN properties) • Rate updates for DC Shop (for non-EPN properties) • Rate updates for DC Shop (for EPN properties)

  3. Rate Codes vs. Rate Levels • Rate codes are created to represent the types of product that a property has available. The rate code is usually 3 characters • Rate levelsallow the Associates to keep rate codes together. They can cluster a few of the rate codes together under one rate level. • NON EPN < 65 535 • EPN > 65 535

  4. Category Codes • Since there is no limit on the number of rate codes that an Associate can create, the category codes are attached to the rate codes for Sabre users’ convenience when shopping for rates. • The most common category codes are: • P – Promotional • W – Weekend • C – Corporate • N – Negotiated • X – Contractual • The Sabre users include the category codes in the shopping entry, and the TPF responds with rates as assigned by the Associate.

  5. Negotiated and Contractual Rates Client Negotiated Rates – these are rate codes representing an agreement between the Associate and a specific corporation. The Negotiated Rates are allocated to the category code - N e.g. HOTDFW/12SEP-1NT1/RC-N‡MOT Agency Contractual Rates – these are rate codes agreed upon by the Associate and the travel agency or consortium of travel agencies. These rates can be used for all agency's clients. The Contractual Rates are allocated to the category code – X e.g. HOTDFW/12SEP-1NT1/RC-X‡OBZ
