  1. Volume of Prism, Cylinder and Pyramid :) By: Katerina Palacios 10-1

  2. Volume of Prism: To find the volume of a rectangular prism you have to do like you are going to find the area of a normal rectangle, the difference is that in a rectangular prism you multiply by height instead of just multiplying lxw. The formula to find the volume is: A= LxWxH Examples: A= l*w*h A=5x2x6 A=60 2 5 3 6 5 7 A=l*w*h A=3*5*7 A= 105 4 A= l*w*h A=3x4x8 A= 96 8 3

  3. Volume of Cylinder : To find the volume of a cylinder you have to use the π symbol that stands for Pi. Since it is a cylinder that includes a circle then you must use π for the circumference and area of a circle. The formula for finding the volume of a cylinder is : Πrsquaredh 7 2 4 3 5 9 A= Πrsquaredh A= π3squared2 A=56.52 A=πrsquaredh A= π 9squared7 A=63 π A=π5squared4 A= 314

  4. Volume of a Pyramid To find the volume of a pyramid you have to multiply the base times the height and then by 1/3 . The formula to find the formula is: A=1/3 bh Examples: V=1/3(b)(h) V=1/3(5)(9) V=15 9 5 V=1/3(B)(h) V=1/3(7)(6) V=14 6 8 V=1/3(b)(h) V=1/3(3)(8) V=8 7 3
