  1. Welcome To All Reg. No.20923012II M.Sc zoology

  2. Synopsis  Introduction of Bioreactors Designing of Bioreactors Salient Features of Bioreactor Types of Bioreactors Conclusion

  3. Introduction of Bioreactor Bioreactor is a vessel used to culture microbes. The success of industrial fermentation primarily depends upon right type of bioreactor designed and right strain of microbe being used in it. The right type of bioreactor of fermented provides all controlled conditions necessary for the growth of the selected microbes.

  4. Designing of bioreactors A bioreactor is a large vessel that provides a controlled condition suitable for culture of a specific microbe. The designing of bioreactor therefore is one of the vital steps in the fermentative production of noval products in industries.

  5. Salient Features of bioreactor A bioreactor must have continuous working capacity It must be large enough to carry out a fermentation process. It must have provision to supply air It must have a system for providing agitations to the culture. It must have a temperature regulating device. It must consume least energy.Thebioreactor must be designed to use the cheapest materials as substrates.

  6. Types of bioreactor  Air- Lift Bioreactor  Tower Fomenters  Cyclone column Bioreactor  Hollow fibre bioreactor  Cylinder – conical bioreactor
