  2. Layout and Compositional Meaning Salience: refers to the most significant element within an image – where your eye is immediately drawn to

  3. Reading Path: salient features of an image give us this, it ranges from most salient to least salient Vectors: connections between one element of an image to another, hence they lead us around the image Reading Path Vector

  4. Compositional Axes: The Vertical Axes create a given or new structure. The left side is called the given with elements of the image being known or understood. The right side is known as the new, as we do not know what is going to happen The Horizontal Axes place different elements in the upper and lower sections of the image, these structures are known as either the idealor real. In the upper section of an image the elements that are represented are referred to as idealand the elements that are represented in the bottom section of an image are referred to as the real Ideal Real Given New

  6. OUR AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR DAVID LUCAS – Is a British author and illustrator, whose parents loved nature, something he took advantage of as a child getting outdoors as much as he could. He proclaims that he never really draws images from real life instead he feels he utilizes his imagination for every illustration, forming patterns and shapes as a part of his work.
