In this age of computers, a person with an MCA degree will have great career opportunities in different IT businesses, consulting firms and government sectors. • They will have a wide scope for the future, so it becomes even more important to choose the right career based on your interest, ambition and skills. • If you are an MCA or intend to do so, there will be a lot of questions in your mind about the different career opportunities that you can choose from.

Career Scope in Government Sector • National Informatics Centre NIC is an Indian organization that provides network and e-governance support to the central and state government and to other government agencies. One can join NIC through the NIELIT exam conducted every year. • Public Sector Units Nowadays PSU recruits candidates based on GATE score or after qualifying CSIR NET exam. BHEL, SAIL, GAIL, BSNL, MTNL, Hindustan Petroleum, Coal India, Indian Oil etc. are some of the firms where you can try for a job. You can also join DRDO or ISRO as a scientist if you score well.

  7. Banking Banks provide a great opportunity to have an attractive salary & job security along with various perks and benefits. Numerous tests are conducted across the country by top agencies such as IBPS, SBI, RBI to recruit candidates for different positions like PO, SO, IT Officer etc. • Lectureship If teaching is your passion then you can prepare for NTA UGC NET after completing MCA from a recognized institute or university as it is mandatory for becoming a lecturer in Govt. colleges or universities. You can also go for a Research fellowship or PhD once you clear the NET exam.

  8. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing An MCA postgraduate is eligible for the post of Project Engineer- I if they score at least First Class in the degree. All C-DAC centres have their own recruitment procedure and each centre announces the number of vacancies they want to fill accordingly. • Union Public Service Commission There are lots of opportunities for an MCA candidate in UPSC as they can apply for Civil Services, Indian police service (I.P.S.), Combined Defense Service (C.D.S), Indian Forest Service (I.F.S.)as well as Indian Railways.
