BestAspirant for Bishop in 2014Proven Leadership Best has served in ministry in the CME Church for 34 years Has given leadership to many civic boards including the Urban League, Crisis Control, YMCA , Aids Care Services, Crime and Drug Task Force and Infant Mortality Reduction Board. Has received the prestigious Humanitarian Award from the Human Relations Commission of Winston Salem, NC. Best has a passion for evangelism and served as Director of Evangelism for sixteen years in the Carolina Region, conducting workshops in the 7th, 5th, 9th and 8th Episcopal Districts. Recognized for his outstanding leadership in the church and community at the Phillips School of Theology’s Eighth Annual Pastors’ Conference. Presently sits on the Board of Trustees for Texas College and serves as Treasurer for the Southeast Texas Region. Pastors one of the leading churches in the 8th Episcopal District.

  2. Metropolitan CME Church8955 South FreewayHouston, TX 77051Currently Pastoring Started serving Metropolitan CME Church in 2010 after the election of Bishop W. Edward Lockett. • Growing the church spiritually and physically. • By the grace of God, led the congregation in restructuring of church loan resulting in a $15,000 reduction to monthly mortgage. • Initiated plans for developing senior citizens’ housing and a long term plan for Metropolitan. • Instrumental in generating an additional monthly income of $5,00.00 via childcare center. Served St. John for 10 years 1996-2006: • By the grace of God, Pastor Best led the congregation in building a 19,000 square feet, 2.4 million dollar church and family life center. The church held its first service in its new building Second Sunday in March 2003. • Developed thriving ministries. • Strong evangelism and stewardship trainingemphasis, raising about one half of the cost of the new edifice in a 5 year period. The church only borrowed $800,000 which included furnishings. St. John CME Church in Winston Salem, NC was built during Dr. Best tenure in 2003

  3. MEET THE BEST FAMILY Dr. Bobby R. Best and Mrs. Jacqueline Howard Best have been happily married for 34 wonderful years. Prior to their marriage, they shared a wonderful friendship that remains to this day. They wedded on Mrs. Best’s birthday and they are the love of each others life. They are the parents of two adult children. Brandon Girard Best, who is married to Jami Morris Best and they have a son, Brandon Girard Best, Jr. (BJ), who is the Best first grandchild. Brandon and his family reside in Chicago, IL and are members of Carter Temple CME Church. Brandon is a Cardiovascular Specialty Rep for a pharmaceutical company, while his wife is the Head of People Support/HR Manager for North America. Bridgette Michelle Best resides in Charlotte, NC and teaches in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public School System. She is a member of Parkwood Institutional CME Church.
