  1. Sketch of changes in mzIdentML version 1.1 (PSI working group „Proteomics Informatics“) excerpt of presentation held in PSI session ofHUPO World Congress, Geneva September 5th, 2011 Dr. Martin Eisenacher Bioinformaticsgroup, Medizinisches Proteom-Center, Ruhr-Universität BochumDr. Christian Stephan, Prof. Dr. Helmut E. Meyer

  2. mzIdentML 1.1sketch of changes • Minor Changes: • elements: upper case, attributes: lower case • dateTime instead of string during implementation of 1.0: ideas / need for changes: Only one .xsd file (FUGElight.xsd integrated) • Medium Changes: • <ModParam> merged with <SearchModification> • residues: . allowed for terminal modifications

  3. mzIdentML 1.1sketch of changes • Major Change: • <PeptideEvidence> elements moved from <PeptideHypothesis> to <SequenceCollection> • <SpectrumIdentificationResult/…Item> is the actual PSM • Inferring proteins from peptides:actually “PPSMs“ (protein-peptide-spectrum matches) • <PeptideEvidence> is the “PP” part of a PPSM Reason for moving it: space savings, Enzyme can be referenced with new <EnzymeRef>, (better human readability ?)
